Happy Vegetarian, Tulum, Mexico
The Mayans considered iguanas to be protective 'police' spirits; guardians of sacred places. This sweet creature was guarding the entrance to the ruins at Tulum. After feeding it a hibiscus flower, I was rewarded with a very satisfied smile.

Who Startled Whom?
There is nothing quite like the sound of a snake slithering through a pile of dry leaves. I would be quite happy NOT to hear it again any time soon.
The River and the Shore (for RMG)
Winding and swirling and dancing along
We pass by the old willow tree
Where lovers caress as they sing our song
Twisting together when we greet the sea.
And it goes on and on, watching the river run
Further and further from things that we've done
Leaving them one by one
And we have just begun, watching the river run
Listening and learning and yearning, run river run
Glorious Morning
Rick took this in our front yard on his way to work early one morning.
Misty Roses, Wroxton Abbey
You look to me like misty roses
Too soft to touch
But too lovely to leave alone
You look to me like misty roses
Too soft to touch
But too lovely not to try
